Logins, Users & Security

iGene has two main methods to allow users access to the application. This is either via accounts directly created within iGene or via LDAP where the users will authenticate with Active Directory using Windows login credentials.

In both cases, a user account must exist within iGene. The advantage of using LDAP is the users no longer need to remember another password and password expiry is handled at the IT level and follows the in-house compliance processes for this.

In all cases, security and permissions are still controlled within iGene.

There are numerous preferences within iGene which items such as password expiry, automatic logout and lockout. See preferences for more information.
