The templates folder is the location where all the report templates are placed on the server. This folder should be backed up and it is advisable to have shadow copy running on this location as it will help if items are overwritten.
Typically, Genial Genetics advise that only direct access to the templates folder on the test system is allowed with changes to reports being performed in the front end of the application on the live system. This is to reduce the risk of accidental deletion or overwriting data.
