Storage Pools

The Storage Pools preference is used to record a list of storage pools in the system. These are set by Genial staff or by default within the system and can not be manually added by users, although they can be edited.

The table of Storage Pools will display the code, name, and online status and whether it is read only for the storage pool.

Configuration

When editing a storage pool, users are presented with the below form to complete. Always press Save in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser after editing a storage pool.

Code (Required, Unique)

A unique code for the storage pool. This can be the same as the name but must be unique throughout the entire system.

Name (Required)

A name for the storage pool. It is advisable to keep this unique.

Storage Directory (Required)

The directory path for the storage pool.

Online

A checkbox to activate/deactivate an entry. If the preference is not active, it will not be selectable in any drop-down lists.

Read Only

A checkbox to set the storage pool as read only. If the preference is set to read only, it will not be selectable in any drop-down lists.

Order

The order in which the storage pool will be displayed in the drop-down list. The lower the number, the higher the storage pool will be displayed in the list. If two storage pools have the same order number, they will be displayed in alphabetical order.
