Referral Types

Using Referral Types, referrals can be categorised and separated into different departments within hospitals. For certain referral types (i.e. prenatal), additional fields are available to the user.

Location

The table of Referral Types will display the code, name, and status for the referral type.

Configuration

When adding or editing a referral type, users are presented with the below form to complete. Always press Save in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser after adding or editing a referral type.

Code (Required, Unique)

A unique code for the referral type. This can be the same as the name but must be unique throughout the entire system.

Name (Required)

A name for the referral type. It is advisable to keep this unique.

Department

A department that the referral type is associated with. This is a dropdown list.

Prenatal

A checkbox to indicate if the referral type is a prenatal referral. If checked, additional fields will be available to the user.

Active

A checkbox to activate/deactivate an entry. If the preference is not active, it will not be selectable in any drop-down lists.
