The Pedigree Templates preference is used to record a list of pedigree templates in the system. These are found when viewing a patient’s pedigree from the patient overview screen. The choice of values are selected using an autocomplete or dropdown list.


The table of Pedigree Templates will display the code, name, description, and status for the pedigree template.
When adding or editing a pedigree template, users are presented with the below form to complete. Always press Save in the bottom right-hand corner of the browser after adding or editing a pedigree template.

A unique code for the pedigree template. This can be the same as the name but must be unique throughout the entire system.
A name for the pedigree template. It is advisable to keep this unique.
A description of the pedigree template.
A checkbox to activate/deactivate an entry. If the preference is not active, it will not be selectable in any drop-down lists.
A dropdown list to select the symbol for male entities on the pedigree chart.
A dropdown list to select the symbol for female entities on the pedigree chart.
A dropdown list to select the symbol for unknown entities on the pedigree chart.
A dropdown list to select the symbol for the proband on the pedigree chart.
A dropdown list to select the symbol for the index on the pedigree chart.
A table to define the symbols and legends for the pedigree template.
A label for the symbol/legend.
A dropdown list to select the diagnosis for the symbol/legend.
A dropdown list to select the status for the diagnosis.
A color picker to select the color for the symbol/legend.
An automatically generated quadrant for the symbol/legend. This is generated by the “Edit Colours/Symbols in Chart View” button.
An automatically generated symbol for the symbol/legend. This is generated by the “Edit Colours/Symbols in Chart View” button.
A checkbox to hide the legend by default on the pedigree chart.
A button to edit the colors and symbols in the pedigree chart view. This opens a new window where users can edit the colors and symbols for the pedigree template.
A checkbox to disable the editing of the legend in the pedigree chart view.
A checkbox to disable the adding of new entries in the pedigree chart view.
A checkbox to ignore/hide items not on the list in the pedigree chart view.

This is a table to define the views for the pedigree template. Adding a new row will show a popup where this can be configured.
